PHP Fusion Core Edition 7 Review

Mike Johnston over at CMSTester.com has reviewed PHP Fusion Core 7 and has given it a 8/10! This is indeed great news! While PHP-Fusion still has not mature at the level of Drupal, it is a great lightweight CMS system. Mike's review is fairly thorough from a users perspective and even walks you through the install process.

Edit Any Page - Neat Little Trick

Here's a little hack that lets you edit any page. Great tool for learning how a page is built.

Step 1) Go to any website.

Step 2) Once on the site, enter this code in the URL bar and hit return.

javascript:document.body.contentEditable='true'; document.designMode='on'; void 0

Step 3) Edit the page as you wish :)

Gary McKinnon comes to America! (well sorta)

The "UFO Hacker" lost his battle against being extradited to the U.S and will be soon visiting a detention facility.

McKinnon is known for having infiltrated NASA servers in search of UFO cover ups. He claims to have found strong evidence of the UFO phenomena in their network, specially photos that were at some point doctored to cover the truth.

Flash Technology Helping New Parents

Putting your baby to sleep is not an easy task and we're not the exception. Putting our nine month old baby to bed can be an arduous, backbreaking, demanding labor that starts from 8pm and ends somewhere before midnight. Worth noting wife does 99.99% of the work involved.

Microsoft Delivers Cake

Just like on the release of Firefox 2, the IE Microsoft team, send a cake to the Firefox folks congratulating them for their 3.0 release. It was a very nice of them, but is there a hidden message?

Who took my 1680 x 1050 resolution?!

Today, my Vista desktop running in my powerful HP laptop (and I don't mean it in a sarcastic way) came up running a display of 800x600...geesh while it brought back some good ol memories, I couldn't help but to wonder who took my 1680x1050 resolution! I want it back and I want it now!

Firefox 3 Gets Release Date!

Big News! After 34 months of development, Firefox 3 will be released on June 17th, 2008!

You can still download their beta versions here but I would highly recommend that you wait until Download Day 2008 and help Firefox in their efforts to set a new world guiness record.

Wii Fit or Wii Fat?

This comes from a colleague of mine. I have not used Wii but the idea of using Wii Fit sounds tempting.

Real Life Examples of PHP Applications

Normally, programming tutorials don't really cover common security pitfalls, it is then six months down the road that you realize that perhaps that tutorial did more damage than good. This is one area where PHP Architect really shines. Their real life php examples are well thought, putting a higher emphasis in security and is mostly written by PHP gurus. In any case, if web development using PHP is of any interest to you then you cannot afford not to buy this magazine. And no I don't work for them :)

Which CMS to choose?

After spending hours and hours of testing various open source CMS system, I've finally decided to choose Drupal as the CMS for my own website. Drupal is a free software package that allows an individual or a community of users to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content on a website. Like with anything else there is a bit of a learning curve but you tend to appreciate why things are done in a certain way. I must admit, the more I use it, the more I love it. If you have some cash to spend I would recommend Sitecore.
